Miniatures Game ::
Rated G :: Description: Join the Battle Over the Stygion! This is a new-player-friendly scenario where participants can jump in and choose to attack or defend the mobile fortress, the Stygion! As part of this grinder-style event, players can step up, claim a mech and record sheet, and get straight into the action. New players and veterans alike are welcome, and everyone should find something fun and engaging to enjoy. An experienced BattleTech player will be present at all times to assist newcomers. Even if you’ve never played a single game of BattleTech, you’re welcome to jump in and learn as you play. How It Works. The table will be set up with a variety of record sheets and mechs for players to choose from. The first player to step up will join the attacking team, and the second will join the defenders. After that, players will be assigned to teams as they enter play. I will remain a constant presence—starting on the defending side and shifting as needed—to help maintain balance and keep the game engaging. When a player’s mech is destroyed, they may either select a new mech and rejoin the fight or step away to enjoy other events. Players are welcome to stay and play for as long as they like until the event concludes. The Scenario The objective is simple: stop the Stygion from crossing the board—or ensure that it does. The attackers are an elite private security force commissioned by Cryotech to defend the capital city of Tanguska IV, which also serves as the location of Cryotech’s regional headquarters. The defenders are the militant arm of Omnicore Heavy Industries, a rival corporation determined to push Cryotech out of the region. The attackers must prevent the Stygion’s massive array of Long Tom artillery batteries from coming within range of the capital city—it must be stopped at all costs. The defenders, on the other hand, must ensure the Stygion’s safe passage across the battlefield. While the mobile fortress is equipped with point-defense weapons, it is no match for a dedicated assault force on its own, and its slow speed makes it an easy target. Protect it—if you hope to win this war. Prizes Win or lose, every player who joins the table will receive a prize as a thank-you for participating. Rewards include BattleTech-themed stickers, buttons, and even a mech—all provided by me. Rules: Players are expected to adhere to all rules and conduct expected of them by the Comicpalooza event. Players select up to a single unit at a time. Players must choose a new unit if they wish to continue to play after their previous unit is destroyed. They may not choose the same unit twice in a row so that everyone may have an opportunity to try whatever they wish. A player may choose that same unit again after they have played as a different unit. Players are expected to act respectfully to event staff and their fellow players. This is a casual, friendly event. Children will likely be present, so language must be kept PG. Players causing repeated issues may be asked to step away from the table.
